The motors are called 'The Devil' ie Ducati Diavel may be a revolutionary motor with the engine. Sales numbers were pretty high. But that does not make it immune to the problem.
As reported by the Wall Street Journal, Tuesday (12/07/2011) Diavel actually had withdrawn previously because there is a problem with the wheel.
But now the problem is not unusual. The problem occurs brass plate on the chain cover can be damaged over time. This can cause the destruction of brass bolts loose on the license plate holder because it has the same seat on the swingarm.
If this happens, it is feared would hit the rear wheel and eventually cause an accident.
Ducati said that approximately 964 motor units produced on 23 September 2010 to May 12, 2011 included in the recall list.
